St. Charles, MO - Treasury or any of the Loan Offices of the State of Missouri $10 at 2% per Year (Act of June 27, 1821) October 1, 1821 Cr. 05. PCGS Very Fine 30 Apparent. A fourth note from this \"Unconstitutional\" Loan Office issue continuing a historic offering. This is also the 1992 Criswell plate note. It appears to have been printed locally from an engraved copper plate similar in quality to the 50 cents and $1 issued notes. It is not as richly detailed as the impressive Harrison $1 proof. The paper used is superior in quality with blue fibers. At the top center is seated Minerva representing Liberty, Agriculture, the Constitution, and Plenty; she appears to pat the beaver gnawing beside her. The vignette is laid into the lengthy titles and obligations. End panels have counters at the left, and small portraits and TEN in the center at the right. The loan office location and date are fully handwritten across. Signed by the treasurer and auditor, with both signatures matching nicely with the genuine 50-cents note cataloged here. Plate A, no. 866. The note saw acceptance with significant spindling indicated by the numerous pinholes observed in the center. There are noted \"Pinholes; Mounting Remnants on Back.\" The paper is strong and fully margined.
