PCGS Very Fine 20.  The rare William Adams note is a diminutive and uniface change bill printed without an imprint. A double ornamental pattern border encloses the text. The obligation is, \"I PROMISE to pay the Bearer / on demand One Penny.\" The issuer name is at lower right. The town, located in Ulster County, is handwritten. The bordering used on this note is different from the plated example on page 298 of the Newman 5th edition. This is a very rare issuer, a design variant and the first we have cataloged. Ex: Eric P.
