This India paper proof, mounted on original card, was engraved and printed by the Toppan, Carpenter, Casilear & Co. A bold impression, and a striking layout. The vignettes share the common theme of life on the farm. At top left, a boy reassures one of his horses as a train travels by in the distance. At lower left, a woman milks a cow. The barefoot boy at lower right uses the handle of the grain cradle to tote his jacket and shoes. The Capital $25,000 is engraved on the plate. No protector and, therefore unlisted. Noted as \"Hole Punch Cancelled\" and \"Mounted on Cardstock\" as made. There is a faint wisp of foxing in the right center; otherwise, at first glance the proof appears Gem. Ex: Eric P.
