Proof. PCGS Superb Gem New 67 PPQ.  This is a rarer denomination Winona County Bank proof. It was printed from the American Bank Note Company engraved plate on India paper and mounted on cardstock. There is a mixture of styles from the predecessor firms. At the top center is the Danforth, Bald & Co. (DB) created allegory of Native American and settler maternal family groups that flank the portrait of Chief Red Jacket. At the lower left is the Baldwin, Adams & Co. portrait of a young boy used on several notes; this was also seen on the Confederate States Type 32 notes adapted from the Mechanics Savings Bank plates modified for CSA use. At the lower right is a Native American huntress adapted from 1840s style Danforth imprints. The blue serial number \"87625\" is for demonstration purposes. Noted as \"Hole Punch Cancelled\" and \"Mounted on Cardstock\" as made. There are only three $2 proofs listed on the census, and this certainly is the finest.
