PCGS Very Fine 20.  This is an unusual denomination to see from Illinois and the bank, unlike most Illinois banks, existed during the Civil War. Though its closing in 1865 and fate are unknown, presumably most of these notes registered with the state auditor's office were redeemed. A full American Bank Note Co. imprint is in the top border. The top center shows an eagle, with the Stars and Stripes shield, under the arced title. Upper corners show 1 ? counters on lathe work. The auditor's seal is at lower left and a portrait of a young woman at lower right. This is very pleasing grade and a great rarity. Ex: Eric P.
