Proof. PCGS Very Choice New 64 Apparent.  This is the highest denomination from the bank printed by Rawdon, Wright, Hatch & Edson, New-York on the engraved sheet of four proofs. Like the others, this is an India paper proof mounted on original cardstock. This has an attractive layout and a rarely seen steamboat vignette style at the upper right. A charming young woman with long curls appears in an oval portrait with an agricultural frame at lower right. The elaborate \"V\" with hovering angel carrying trumpets and wreaths is at lower left. A sailor, farmer and mechanic are on the outside and a woman as Home Industry is inside. The base vignette shows a bull. This is the only $5 proof of this type in private hands. The Krause Collection had a $5 bond paper Specimen that sold for $2,645 in the first sale in September 2009. Noted as \"Hole Punch Cancelled\" and \"Mounted on Cardstock\" as made. There is some light India paper wrinkling, and a \"Small Edge Tear at Left\" is noted by grading.
