PCGS Fine 15.  The Newman Collection contains many raised denomination genuine notes. Most are unique, unlisted or confirm period Bank Note Reporter listings accumulated by Haxby and other Obsolete note authors. This genuine $1 note printed by Danforth, Bald & Co with an \"ABC\" monogram was deftly altered in only three places to complete the work. In the wide vignette top left, a Native American princess surveys \"progress\" as embodied by the town and modern transportation far below. The New York bank seal is to the right. The lower right corner shows a canal scene with the rider and horse on the towpath. The remaining corners have \"10\" counters that were placed over the originals. When raised notes were discovered by the bank, they added green panels on the new $1 notes with tall outlined \"1\" protectors, making them impossible to raise. We have never seen another example, and the condition is lovely. Ex: Eric P.
