PCGS Fine 15 Apparent.  This is an iconic series of territorial period American paper currency with a custom style vignette befitting St. Louis' paramount role in American commerce during this time. The notes were signed by Auguste Chouteau, the founder of St. Louis. They were printed from beautifully crafted plates by Murray, Draper, Fairman & Co. All use a common top central vignette with a bust of Jefferson on a pedestal and a capped liberty pole behind. The name \"Jefferson\" is arced above. Barrels, crates, sacks, bales, and beehives are at the shore. Four ships are at sail in the background. At the horizon are mountain peaks, with the radiant sun rising. Numeric counters are at each side. Intricate end panels show cartouches. The perpendicular denomination is at the left, and MISSOURI at the right. There are some \"Small Edge Tears\" noted, but this is very pleasant with sharp vignettes and signature. Ex: Eric P.
