A colonnade in two storeys runs around three sides of the now empty courtyard. An extensive terrace forms the upper level of the fourth side. Facing on to it is the Divan-i Khas ('Hall of Private Audience'; 1635), which consists of an open colonnade leading to a hall closed on three sides. The façade is composed of five cusped arches with a chajjā (stone projection) above. The whole is constructed of white marble with lavish inlay work in hardstones as well as carved relief work.
