A second pair cut from the original ABN Sale sheet with the face a riveting gem and the back displaying vibrant color. There was only one sheet of back proofs in the ABN archives and therefore only two complete $1 proof pairs known to us. Each is an India paper proof mounted on original card by Danforth, Bald & Co., New-York & Philada. As on the previous, a dynamic scene is at top left, with the man on horseback observing the young herder cracking his whip. At lower right, the effort of the woman drawing water from a well is clearly demonstrated. A \"1\" die is at lower left, a ONE in the top right, and title and protector are across the bottom. The clamshell at upper right center lists the five locations of the banking establishment. The bright brown security back has dazzling denomination dies. Plate B face and color back. The face is noted as \"Hole Punch Cancelled\" and both are \"Mounted on Card Stock\" as made. An exceptionally visual set and the first we have cataloged. The back proof is centered downward, but the exceptional face is perfectly framed and superb. A historic issuer and superbly rendered duo.
