It is the only one listed on the Hewitt census, offered at auction for the first time from the Newman Collection. The title of this American Bank Note Company $2 is on three lines, arced downward at the top and upward at the bottom, with the middle line curving. Surrounding flourishes provide a dramatic effect. Union, in her elaborate gown, is to the right of center. An agricultural scene is at the lower left, and a young girl at the lower right. Differently styled \"2\" dies are in the upper corners. Noted are \"Tape Repairs on Back; Minor Rust Stains.\" This condition is quite acceptable due to the note's great rarity and specialist appeal. Ex: Eric P.
