Proof. PCGS Very Choice New 64 Apparent.  This is a great title and interesting Milwaukee bank. According to Chet Krause's bank history, the bank failed in 1862, but the state supposedly had the gold to redeem the notes. We have never seen an issued note. The bank also provided clearinghouse services for several scrip note issuers that used the \"Lipman\" lithographed style. Engraved and printed by Wellstood, Hay & Whiting, New York & Chicago on a $1-$1-$2-$5 sheet array. Printed on India paper, but without its original card. The allegorical female at top center, under the straight title, represents Commerce and Liberty. Justice is seated at the lower right. Intricate dies are in the upper corners. A red protector ONE is at the bottom. Noted as \"Hole Punch Cancelled\" as made and with only a minor noted \"Edge Tear at Bottom Left.\" This is slightly finer than the example we sold in May 2016 for $1,527.50. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society, Heritage Auctions Internet Sale (1/2017).\n\n(Description courtesy of Heritage Auctions, ha.com.) Realized $540.50."},{"label":"Collecting Area","value":["Numismatics"]},{"label":"Collection Name","value":["Image Collections"]}],"description":"Lot 91177","sequences":[{"@type":"sc:Sequence","canvases":[{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/washu/iiif/9e9bc387-129b-4751-81d3-7a3485af7939/canvas/_1","@type":"sc:Canvas","label":"91177_241622011821o","height":893,"width":1527,"images":[{"@type":"oa:Annotation","motivation":"sc:painting","resource":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/washu/iiif/c8a1a4be-9759-472b-8f04-96ec5f8fa42b/full/full/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","format":"image/jpeg","service":{"@context":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/context.json","@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/washu/iiif/c8a1a4be-9759-472b-8f04-96ec5f8fa42b","profile":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/level2.json"},"height":893,"width":1527},"on":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/washu/iiif/9e9bc387-129b-4751-81d3-7a3485af7939/canvas/_1","metadata":[{"label":"Medium","value":["Currency"]}]}],"thumbnail":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/washu/iiif/c8a1a4be-9759-472b-8f04-96ec5f8fa42b/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","height":500,"width":500}},{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/washu/iiif/9e9bc387-129b-4751-81d3-7a3485af7939/canvas/_2","@type":"sc:Canvas","label":"91177_241622011821r","height":894,"width":1523,"images":[{"@type":"oa:Annotation","motivation":"sc:painting","resource":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/washu/iiif/37f578fc-efea-450c-984b-86f3496e1043/full/full/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","format":"image/jpeg","service":{"@context":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/context.json","@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/washu/iiif/37f578fc-efea-450c-984b-86f3496e1043","profile":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/level2.json"},"height":894,"width":1523},"on":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/washu/iiif/9e9bc387-129b-4751-81d3-7a3485af7939/canvas/_2","metadata":[{"label":"Medium","value":["Currency"]}]}],"thumbnail":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/washu/iiif/37f578fc-efea-450c-984b-86f3496e1043/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","height":500,"width":500}}]}],"thumbnail":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/washu/iiif/c8a1a4be-9759-472b-8f04-96ec5f8fa42b/full/300,300/0/default.jpg","logo":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/washu/iiif/logo"}
