(St. Louis, M.T.) - A. T. Crane, Post Master at the St. Louis Post Office, \"Post Office Change/Receiv'd for Letters\" 25 Cents Undated (1819). PCGS Very Good 10 Apparent. This is a second exceedingly rare and reportedly unique \"Post Office Change / Receiv'd for Letters\" series note issued and signed by Aaron T. Crane. This series was apparently issued only in 1819. Like the 6 cents, this is printed on very delicate pink paper without imprint. Identical in style to the last. Accordion-style cartouches at the ends have POST OFFICE CHANGE at the left and RECEIV'D FOR LETTERS at the right. A small \"25\" counter is at upper right. The denomination \"TWENTY-FIVE CENTS,\" is across with the obligation \"In current money will be given for this note / at the Post Office St. Louis.\" Space was left for the well-formed A. T. Crane signature as \"Post Master.\" The note was postmarked, with St. Louis visible but the date very faint (perhaps Jan. 21?). Very well used and noted with \"Edge and Internal Splits and Tears; Tape Repairs.\" It has a full appearance from the face, but embedded soiling is seen and there are numerous paper fissures caused by wear and the paper type. Though less than perfect, historic and a great rarity. This (the first he discovered) and the previous 6 cents are the only pink paper \"Receiv'd for Letters\" denominations Eric P.
