Mayers & Bro. - Payable in Multiple Locations 25 Cents Jan. 5, 1862 Rothert 234-6. PCGS Very Fine 30.  This 25 cents type is similar to Rothert 234-5, but the date is fully engraved at the upper right. The plate letter \"A\" is at lower left. Payable at five locations including Sherman and Denton, Texas, and Fort Gibson, Cherokee Nation (spelled out). The red Mayers ink stamping is diagonal across the face. A superb note, and possibly the finest known. It has deep printing clarity and very wide margins. The \"Cherokee Nation\" payable stands out on the top edge. A beautiful example from this diverse selection notes from the Mayers brothers. Ex: Eric P.
