The men are sitting on opposite sides of the table, with a bottle of something alcoholic (possibly whiskey) and an open box of cigars on the table between them.  The man on the left side of the illustration seems to be the main subject, and is the only one drawn full figure.  He's wearing slippers, striped pajamas, an overcoat and a top hat, along with pince-nez glasses. He has a lit cigar in his mouth, and a glass in his left hand.  He has a mustache, slightly turned up at the ends and waxed. His right elbow is on the right arm of the chair, and his hand is in the air.  He's looking directly at the viewer, with his eyes wide, and a bemused expression on his face.  The other man is only visible from the waist up, seated on the other side of the desk, both elbows on it, holding up his head.  His pajamas are light colored and plain.  He's giving his companion a baleful stare.
