PCGS Very Fine 25 Apparent.  The First National Bank of Beaver Dam, Charter 3270, succeeded this Obsolete title and redeemed most of the notes. This issued note was paid by the bank on September 18, 1872, attesting to its soundness and indicating that notes such as this likely stayed in circulation after the bank converted. Charter 3270 is an unreported title to this day as attested by the Andrew Shiva National Bank Note Census and Track and Price. In essence, the note might be considered a \"Quasi-Original Series\" note. A bucolic design by the American Bank Note Co., New-York. At the top, cattle munch on hay while nearby birds forage. A dog and safe vignette is at the lower right. Issued notes were not known to Haxby when he published, but we have seen a few examples of this rare note. Noted as \"Pen Cancelled,\" lightly across the signatures, and with some scattered foxing designated as \"Minor Stains.\" This is a fascinating piece of Wisconsin banking history and a perfect $5 note to add to an Obsolete or National Bank Note collection from this state.
