PCGS Very Fine 30 Apparent. This is an exceedingly rare and important Confederate bogus, or fantasy, note. Tremmel assigns it a Rarity-10 (1-2 known) rating. There are reportedly only two known examples, and this Newman Collection note adds to that elite number. This wood block engraving has T10 imitation vignettes, but adds red color TWENTY and \"20\" die protectors as seen on the Upham Female Riding Deer fantasy note (CTXX-1) types. The full Upham imprint is along the bottom edge. Noted with \"Edge Tears and Minor Damage; Mounting Remnants on Back.\" Those flaws are minor compared with the bright eye appeal. Difficult to estimate, but clearly a dream note for the Confederate contemporary counterfeit specialist. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society\n\nRealized $8812.50.
