PCGS Fine 15.  The Kilby Bank was extremely short-lived and, despite its failing quickly, the notes are rarities. Like so many banks in this period, this has the New England Bank Note Co. imprint. A large eagle, with wings partly outstretched and an anchor beside him, stands watchfully at the harbor. The left end panel shows a perpendicular, italic FIVE on a patterned background. Beneath the \"5\" die in the upper right corner, a rectangular vignette shows a woman in a kerchief doing needlework. This note might be unique and is a new discovery from the Newman Collection. There was no design date available to Haxby (that is, NDA) and no notes are known in the recently published Whitman Encyclopedia. The $1 issued note in similar condition from Newman Part VII realized $1,057.50 in October 2015. This note is much rarer and may be unique. Ex: Eric P.
