There's an open door, two chairs (one with arms, one without), a wall sconce, and what could be either a sofa or a bed--full view is blocked by two gentlemen in the picture. Three people are in the picture - two men on the left, a woman on the right. The two men are facing the woman on the right, so their faces are in profile. The first man is standing - a portly, balding older man with a bushy mustache, who's squinting/leering at the woman. He dressed stylishly in dark pants, light coat with a velvet collar, and spats. He's holding his fedora over the back of the armless chair. The other man is sitting on the end of the bed/sofa, right leg crossed over left, and right arm rested on his knee. He's dressed in a dark suit and is much younger than the other man, and has his dark hair pomaded back away from his face. The woman is standing, facing the viewer, hands on hips, but with her face turned toward the men, chin tilted up in a haughty manner. She's wearing a medium colored off the shoulder gown, with a few frills, and a sheer shawl/wrap over that, still off the shoulder, though. Her hair is up. It's very 1900s style. The caption reads; She came close to the man from San Francisco and stood at ease. \"Number 84,\" she drawled. This illustration appears to have been cut from a page.
