PCGS Fine 12 Apparent.  This is one of the rarest banks from Louisiana, with very few notes known. There are two series of notes, which is not elaborated on in Haxby. This note is fully issued, dated 1852 and does not have a registered state official signature on it like the listed and plated $1 LA-50 G2a. The notes from both series were engraved and printed by Rawdon, Wright, Hatch & Edson, and are styled similarly. At the top right is a train vignette with a Louisiana seal to its left. At lower left are seated Justice and standing Athena. At the right end a cameo-head counter is between corner denominations. Some rust corrosion created the noted faults of \"Tape Repaired Tears and Holes.\" However, this is only the second note from the title we have cataloged, both from the Newman Collection, and this note is properly issued. The $2 dated remainder we sold in Newman Part VI in April 2015, graded PCGS Very Fine 35PPQ, realized $3,290. An intriguing Louisiana banknote rarity. Ex: Eric P.
