MD-54. PCGS About New 58PPQ. This is a beautifully balanced note from a series of Maryland notes where high-grade examples are nearly impossible to locate. The back imprint is interesting, with the imprint of A.C. and W. GREEN (Anne Catherine and William). Anne Catherine was the widow of Jonas Green, and this is one of the few female imprints known on American paper currency. The fractional denominations from the series are particularly rare in this impressive state of preservation due to receiving tremendous use in commerce. Crisp and attractive, this example has only some faint edge handling. The note is sharply printed, broadly margined for the series and shows a nearly full left end indent design. A choice fractional type note. The finest note from the series we have cataloged and sold. Ex: Eric P.
