The large vermillion \"1\" protector, slightly right of center in the top half, sets the stage for the vignettes on either side. At top left, a farmer pumps water into the trough for thirsty animals. At right, a veiled woman holding a flower looks over her shoulder at the viewer. A screaming eagle on a tor is at bottom right. Counters are in the remaining comers. A deeper vermillion protector outlines ONE 1 ONE at bottom center. This is the first $1 note from the bank we have offered. The rare $2 denomination from the Newman Collection sold for $3,055 graded PCGS Fine 15 in the October 2015 Newman Part VII sale. A very scarce type with classic American Bank Note Company styling.
