PCGS Gem New 65 PPQ.  The 1933 Depression Scrip series is a very broad. This is an extremely rare 1933 Depression period scrip that is known to us only by its listing and mention in Benice's reference on page 177. Several Florida issues, like this, are colorfully printed by H. & W.B. Drew & Co., Jacksonville, and the style is identical to the Babson Park note offered in this sale. The green tint is an apt choice for this Plant City note. Both face and back show a repeating pattern based on the original Florida State Seal: A Native American woman strews flowers; there is a cocoa tree and a steamboat; and the motto \"In God We Trust\" appears. We have no auction records for a note from this series and it is a Gem note, presumably saved as a sample with three small punch-hole cancels.
