PCGS Very Fine 25.  An interesting, earlier style plate variant note from the series that is unlisted in Haxby, but is in the same series as the listed $3 G18 type. Like all notes from the issue, signed by Auguste Chouteau. The common vignette, showing a bust of Jefferson on a pedestal and a capped liberty pole behind, is now at the lower center. The name JEFFERSON is straight across under the base rather than above the vignette, as seen on the previous. The minor difference with MO-30 G22a is at the left where the alternate payee can be written in, rather than having \"bearer\" engraved on the plate. Some back endorsement shows to the face, but the note is well margined all around. Ex: Eric P.
