New Jersey April 12, 1757 6 Pounds Fr. NJ-104. PCGS Fine 15 Apparent. This highest denomination is from the Fifth War Issue and was legal tender for the next seven years. Only 500 notes were authorized, and this is an outstanding example. Illustrated in the color plates on page 49 of the fifth edition of Newman's reference, The Early Paper Money of America. The style is similar to the June 22, 1756, face with Royal arms and red text. It also uses the James Parker green sage leaf back. Broad size for the type with most of the red double frame lines visible. The finely detailed leaf and border on the riveting green back are vibrant and sharp. Though noted with \"Minor Mounting Remnants on Face,\" they are barely discernible. This is one of the finest known of the type. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society\n\n
