An interesting trio of early checks from two of the three Territorial banks: Bank of Missouri check on laid paper with imprint, \"Printed at the Office of the St. Louis Enquirer.\" May 29, 1821, just prior to statehood and the bank's closing. $1,000 check, issued and heavily pen-cancelled; pair of small Missouri Exchange Bank (of Wm. O'Hara) checks on laid paper. Left side imprint, \"Enquirer Printing Office\" with an ornamental border. The first for $1,000, payable to the \"New York Exposition,\" the other for $140, signed by O'Hara and a bearer check. Both uncancelled and Very Fine or better. These checks are very relevant and scarce associative items with the banknotes from the issuers. Ex: Eric P.
