Proof. PCGS Choice About New 58 Apparent.  A few South Carolina banks used the $6-$7-$8-$9 odd denomination plates and these peculiar denominations have never been accurately explained. The states using them most actively were neighboring North Carolina and Virginia, but there are only a few issued notes of these odd denominations from all the issuers from this state. This is the third confirmed proof of this type. The other proofs are the Haxby and Sheheen plate note example and falsely penned-in proof example. She holds a sword and rests her other hand on a blank shield. A plow and sheaf of wheat are nearby. In the background, a steamboat emits clouds of exhaust. Circular vignettes of inward facing eagles are in the corners. A cotton plant is at the base. Noted as \"Hole Punch Cancelled\" as made and with a \"Repair in Top Left Corner.\" The corner restoration is hardly noticed.
