PCGS Fine 12 Apparent. This non-Genuine $5 note is representative of unusual notes contained in the Newman Collection that are rare and affordable. The Danforth & Hufty imprint note features the general layout of the \"Knickerbocker\" style seen on the $1 denomination. This portion of the note is genuine. However, in order to create a $5 raised bill, two separate ends from spurious notes were added with an early New York Comptroller's seal left and different male cameo portrait to the right. They decided that leaving ONE DOLLAR in the center was just fine and too much effort to change. Noted as \"Severed and Tape Repaired,\" which was done in period to create this concoction. Ex: Eric P.
