Rivers), Banker \"Promise to Pay\" 50 Cents Undated (1862). Remainder. PCGS Very Choice New 64.   The final, apparently highest, denomination from this rare remainder note series from C. Rivers, Banker. This is similar to the other remainders' layouts. Printed on white bond paper by A. McClean lith. A simple text and obligation is across the note with an ornate numerical die in the center. In green undertint are the sunbursts flanking a large and widely spaced \"50\" protector. The green left end outlines white FIFTY CENTS. The legal obligation states: \"I PROMISE TO PAY BEARER without defalcation or discount when presented in sums of one Dollar or its multiple.\" Not dated or signed. Like all the Rivers' notes, the first examples we have cataloged. This is a very choice note and completes an impressive quartet of remainder notes from Rivers. Ex: Eric P.
