We have never seen a note from this town until now. It was once a shipping center, but declined as transportation shifted to the railroads. Printed on brown rag paper using a wide format; typeset with block \"50\" counters, FIFTY CENTS and denomination ends in cartouches. The obligation is lengthy, and the note was payable in \"Meat, Flour, Lumber, Blacksmith Work, Bank Bills, War or State Bonds or Treasury Warrants.\" The back is stamped by Cummings in blue.
