Her hair is is done in a 1910s/1920s style.  She also is smiling at their son. The little boy is seated in the middle of the scene, dressed in a white sailor suit with dark collar and cuffs.  He's holding a fork full of food and smiling up at his mother.  There's a copyright mark at the bottom right of the page - 1928 M.L.I. Co.  This is Metropolitan Life Insurance Co.  J.M. Flagg did many illustrations for their ads, but I couldn't find this one.
