According to Al Blyhe who has researched this coin extensively, this choice AU specimen is the condition census of this shattered reverse variety. In his excellent book on the series, Kam Ahwash lists the die (A-6) as \"probably unique in Unc, if it exists,\" and \"I consider it a low R-7 in any grade.\" He further states he has has seen only two specimens of this variety, and the plate coin is a VF. Al Blythe, who has 4 specimens in lower grades, advises that this die state is about midway between an early and late die state.
