PCGS Very Fine 20 Apparent.  This type has an interesting history and perhaps should be classified as a \"spurious\" note printed from a genuine plate. The printed notes were stolen in transit and not issued by the bank. When discovered by the bank, this was reported in period Bank Note Reporters with a warning to the public. This is a tie note payable in Philadelphia. A transportation-themed layout from Underwood, Bald & Spencer shows ferryboats and passenger trains. On this, the signatures look authentic, making its \"spurious\" issuance more convincing. \"Small Edge Tears\" are noted by PCGS, but this has a solid look. Ex: Eric P.
