Proof. PCGS Very Choice New 64.  This is the second of two $5 impressions from the $1-$2-$5-$5 sheet engraved and printed by Toppan, Carpenter & Co, New York from the Newman Collection. A Very Choice proof printed on India paper only. America as a Native American princess is prominent at the upper left. She holds a cornucopia spilling coins while reclining amid a number of symbolic items. The eagle stands on the globe on inscribed with AMERICA. At the right end is an oval portrait of a woman posed with her finger at her chin, thus displaying her fine lace cuff. As noted, the Krause Collection had only a $5 bond paper Specimen note from the bank, with flaws. Both Newman $5 proofs are superior condition. Noted as \"Hole Punch Cancelled\" as made.
