Remainder. PCGS Very Fine 20 Apparent.  This is a very rare odd denomination that was used for a few banks. There are less than ten known of this Durand & Company type. Unsigned, but The Flurry, by Asher B. Durand shows ships at sail on rough seas in the vignette at top center. Flanking \"250\" counters, with some of the background running over the numbers, are almost identical. At the left end, an oval cameo head is in a rectangular lathe work frame with scrollwork and grapevine details above and below. The right end panel is composed of wavy lathe work with circular elements traveling down the center. A diminutive whaling vignette is at the base. The red security back has horizontal lathe work across and dies around. Noted with \"Edge Splits and Tape Repair at Top margin; Minor Stains; Falsely Filled In.\" We have handled one example, the proof that was once part of the Vattemare Collection Album, in January 2002.
