Colony of New York July 21, 1746 10 Pounds Fr. NY-119. PCGS Very Fine 25 Apparent. An exceedingly rare note, likely unique, and the Newman plate note illustrated on page 280 of the fifth edition of The Early Paper Money of America. James Parker printed the series, and the style is similar to the small format notes that commenced with the John Peter Zenger-printed December 10, 1737, issue. The coat of arms is at the right and borders are on three sides. Two weights at top left center identify the denomination. Signed by Lynsen, DePeyster, and Van Horne. Our research confirms only three notes known from the entire issue. There were two Boyd collection notes: 3 pounds and 5 pounds. This highest denomination has a bold face, and the noted \"Edge Splits and Repairs\" are minor. Nicely margined all around and bright. Like many Colonial notes from the Newman Collection, irreplaceable. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society\n\n
