PCGS Fine 15 Apparent.  This is a rare first series of July, 1862 notes with red oval overprints in the center. Printed on the back of drafts. The left end panel shows an oblong blue vignette of a miner holding a pickaxe and his lamp. Titles, denomination and obligations are across the center. The Texas Star is at lower right and a counter overprinted in red is above it. Red oval overprint with large TWO is in center. We have handled a $1 and a $3 note from the series, but this denomination was not in the Bond Collection sale. Noted with \"Minor Rust Stains\" that are confined mostly to the bottom center edge.
