One 1817 almanac (Howe's, for Greenwich, Massachusetts) depicts the reverse of a U.S. dime on the front cover. As discussed above, early American almanacs are important for providing a snapshot of the circulating coins and paper money at specific times and places. The Eric P. Newman collection of early American almanacs is unusually large and wide-ranging. Condition varies considerably, but is generally very good. Estimate $1,500. Ex: Eric P.
