In this later die state of the same die, the arc of the first 8 is no longer visible above the second digit, but the surface doubling on the 4 is a good deal stronger than on the earlier die state. The same is true of the remnants of the 8 atop the 9 and inside the upper and lower loops of that number. Undoubtedly, it was this die state that prompted the incorrect \"9/6\" designation when examined.
