PCGS Extremely Fine 40.  This is an interesting series of notes from a bank that came up with an excellent ploy for issuing fraudulent notes. They decided to have the New York Bank Note Co., 50 Wall St. (W. L. Ormsby) deliver most of their printed notes directly to the bank officers and not the state as required by law. They applied false auditor signatures and circulated most of those notes, yielding a handy profit. This is a handsomely designed series. The Native American family in the center was a popular vignette from this engraver. At the bottom left is an allegorical figure representing Mechanics. A well-margined and vibrant example.
