Proof. PCGS Gem New 66PPQ. A Gem India paper proof by Toppan, Carpenter & Co. from this well engraved series. This is another very high quality proof from the Newman Collection, likely the only example in private hands, and it has a particularly bucolic theme. In the wide vignette at top center, a woman pours slops for pigs and a man rests at the edge of the trough where one of the horses drinks. At center right, between two counters, a woman carries grain on her back. At the top is Capital Stock $100,000. The PCGS Gem New 65PPQ $3 proof from the series, also unique in private hands, realized $2,115 in Newman Part VI. Noted as \"Hole Punch Cancelled.\" The deep inking and sculptural corner details contribute to the impressive style of this proof. Ex: Eric P.
