This is a mixed pair of unusual 1864-dated items. A hand-accomplished receipt for the sale of Confederate bonds and other fiscal paper from Gainesville, Alabama. 19.5 cm by 11.0 cm. Endorsed verso. Worn, with folds and splits. Good; Remainder printed Treasurer's Office Certificate of Deposit form for the \"Exchange of Notes of Old Issues\" for February 17, 1864, notes. No imprint, on rag paper with wide margins and stub at left. 30.0 cm by 14.0 cm. A vignette with the CSA shield, cannon, and drum is at top center. There are folds, toning, and some notations. Fine.
