A private scrip note from Plaquemine is an extremely rare occurrence (as opposed to Iberville Parish or corporation notes), and this McWilliams' type has tremendous eye appeal, a common denominator of so many of the Newman Collection rarities. Printed on brown paper with a lower left imprint of \"Gaz. & Sent. Print.\" The Gothic title is near the top. A small spread-winged eagle is above; flanking are two cartouches with \"50 Cts.\" The obligation is across the center, with green protector FIFTY in large letters and a small green obligation \"rider\" underneath. Agriculture is standing at the left end. The right end has an inward facing FIFTY CENTS in a floral-ended cartouche. Noted with \"Small Edge Tear at Top Right.\" That tiny flaw does not detract from the bold appeal of this rarity.
