French Point, MO - T. R. Livingston & Co. Redeemable at J. M. Bryant's Store, C.[herokee] N.[ation], or at my Headquarters $1.25 July 1, 1862. PCGS Fine 15 Apparent. A third July 1, 1862, Livingston-series note and very rare. This faces up as a very vibrant and attractive example. Similar to the previous $1.25, but printed on delicate white rag paper. Printed from the same or a nearly identical plate. Intricate ends and corners, and a wavy-line border at top and bottom, contain the typeset text within. Town and date are at the top, half-shaded ONE DOLLAR & 25 CENTS is underneath, and the Gothic \"In Confederate Money\" is bolded across. The obligation near the bottom states it was \"Redeemable at J. M. Bryant's Store, C.[herokee] N.[ation], or at my Headquarters.\" The issuer is engraved. The T. R. Livingston & Co. countersignature is on the blank back. No. 151. Noted with \"Edge and Internal Splits.\" We have cataloged and sold only one other note from the issue, also from the Newman Collection. That 25-cent note graded PCGS Very Fine 20 with stains realized $4,700 in Newman Internet 3 on May 3, 2017. Well margined all around and very attractive.
