PCGS Very Fine 35.  An extremely rare fully issued note from a quintessential Providence bank title. This American Bank Note Co., New-York note is elegantly crafted. Only this and a $2 issued note  plated in the Whitman Encyclopedia from this late series is known to us. The 1902 Providence City Documents recounts the traditional story of Roger Williams and his companions arriving on the banks of the Seekonk River. They were greeted by a Native American man on a hill with the words \"What cheer, netop.\" NPS.gov explains that \"netop\" is the Narragansett word for \"friend.\" This note shows a Native American man on a hill overlooking a scenic river view. At the lower left, an allegorical female holding a sledgehammer is seated among tools and represents Mechanics and Industry. In an oval frame at lower right, a young lady strikes a thoughtful pose that displays her elegant lace cuff. The green protector outlines ONE. A bright, superb issued note with wide margins.
