St. Louis, (M.T.) - Bank of Missouri $3 Aug. 3, 1818 MO-30 G18a. PCGS Very Fine 30 Apparent. Another $3 note signature and date variety acquired by Eric while studying this series. The Bank of Missouri $3 note varieties are numerous. Because there are different dates, signature combinations, and two types of engraved obligations on the denomination, many permutations are possible. Printed on fine banknote paper by Murray, Draper, Fairman & Co. with the layout and style as previous. The Jefferson bust vignette is at top center, and intricate end panels have \"THREE\" left and \"MISSOURI\" right. This plate variety has the obligation, \"...promise to pay____or bearer on demand.\" Plate A. No. 3115. Signed by John Dales (previously teller, elected cashier in 1818) and Aug. Chouteau. Noted with \"Edge Tears; Piece Missing at UR.\" A fairly crisp note, but there is some brittleness along the top edge with some small pieces off crossing the frame line. The signatures are clear.
