PCGS Choice About New 55 Apparent.   A third denomination from this post-Civil War series printed by the National Bank Note Co. N.Y. The size and layout are similar to the other denominations: a mechanic is at work in the oval at the left end; titles are across the center over a red \"25\" protector; and at upper right is a diamond-shaped \"25\" die. The obligation underneath states \"In Merchandise at Cash retail prices / at their Store\" over Pilley's engraved signature. Noted as \"Paper Toned\" and with \"Minor Mounting Remnants on Back.\" Though toned a tan hue, the highest-grade note from the issuer we have seen, and the denomination was not in the Vacca collection.
