PCGS Very Fine 35PPQ.  A gorgeous $5 type note from the historic series signed by Auguste Chouteau, the founder of St. Louis. Beautifully styled by Murray, Draper, Fairman & Co. The common top central vignette shows a bust of Jefferson on a pedestal and a capped liberty pole behind. The name \"Jefferson,\" at the top center, is straight rather than arced. Barrels, crates, sacks, bales, and beehives are at the shore. Four ships are at sail in the background. At the horizon are mountain peaks, with the radiant sun rising. Numeric counters are at each side. Intricate end panels show cartouches. The perpendicular denomination is at the left, and MISSOURI at the right. A very bold note that is full margined on all sides and boasts a strong signature. Difficult to find in this high grade. Ex: Eric P.
