There are five frames of illustrations - scenes from this play/story. Emphasis is given to women's fashion of the day (ca. 1935). Women in extravagant hats, dresses, and gauntlets. Also the men's clothing, one man sporting a panama hat. A medical doctor (a surgeon, per the text) is depicted in the fourth frame, who is informing some concerned friends or relatives of the serious bullet wound that he has attended. One woman weeps into a handkerchief. The fifth frame is of a happier time, apparently after the critical injury's recovery period. Men and women dressed in high fashion drinking wine or cocktails. Everyone celebrates Alice and Jim's happiness. Mention is made of the Dionne Quintuplets."},{"label":"Image View Type","value":"Fiction Illustration; Periodical Illustration"},{"label":"Image View Description","value":"p.25"},{"label":"Style Period","value":["Commercial Modernism"]},{"label":"Cultural Context","value":"Popular American Culture"},{"label":"Link to Finding Aid Record","value":"https://aspace.wustl.edu/repositories/3/archival_objects/280076"},{"label":"Medium","value":["2 color prints (prints) [AAT]"]},{"label":"Type","value":["Still Image"]},{"label":"Genre Form","value":["Graphic Design and Illustration","Tear sheets [AAT]"]},{"label":"Collection ID","value":["DIRA-00019"]},{"label":"Collecting Area","value":["Dowd Illustration Research Archive"]},{"label":"Publish Country","value":["United States [LCNAF]"]},{"label":"Date Notes","value":"ca. 1935"},{"label":"Date Created","value":"D:00 M:00 Y:1935"},{"label":"Creator","value":["Chapman, Frederick T."]},{"label":"Collection Name","value":["Walt Reed Illustration Archive Tear Sheet Collection","Dowd Illustration Research Archive","Walt Reed Illustration Archive"]},{"label":"Subject (Topical)","value":["Men [LCSH]","Women's hats [LCSH]","Women [LCSH]","Physicians [LCSH]"]},{"label":"Metadata Status","value":"Not Reviewed by Metadata Services Staff"},{"label":"Copyright Statement","value":"<a href=\"https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC-EDU/1.0/\"> This Rights Statement can be used only for copyrighted Items for which the organization making the Item available is the rights-holder or has been explicitly authorized by the rights-holder(s) to allow third parties to use their Work(s) for educational purposes without first obtaining permission.</a>"},{"label":"Keywords","value":["Wine glasses","Surgeons","Dionne quintuplets","Cocktails","Handkerchiefs","Gauntlets (Gloves)","Hats","Men & women","Panama hats","Doctors","Quintuplets","Celebrations","Anniversaries"]},{"label":"Link to Catalog Record","value":"http://archon.wustl.edu/index.php?p=collections/controlcard&id=776&q=walt+reed"},{"label":"Copyright Status","value":["In Copyright - Educational Use Permitted"]},{"label":"Visibility","value":"Full access (No downloads/view only)"},{"label":"Download Restrictions","value":["Full Asset PDF","Metadata","Original item(s)","Transcript"]},{"label":"Creator","value":["Chapman, Frederick T."]}],"description":"Bride's Progress / by Katharine Dos Passos","sequences":[{"@type":"sc:Sequence","canvases":[{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/washu/iiif/683b9e94-6bac-4ec0-ae6c-9847cfb4864a/canvas/_1","@type":"sc:Canvas","label":"Bride's Progress / by Katharine Dos Passos","height":8241,"width":6444,"images":[{"@type":"oa:Annotation","motivation":"sc:painting","resource":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/washu/iiif/683b9e94-6bac-4ec0-ae6c-9847cfb4864a/full/full/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","format":null,"service":{"@context":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/context.json","@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/washu/iiif/683b9e94-6bac-4ec0-ae6c-9847cfb4864a","profile":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/level2.json"},"height":8241,"width":6444},"on":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/washu/iiif/683b9e94-6bac-4ec0-ae6c-9847cfb4864a/canvas/_1","metadata":[]}],"thumbnail":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/washu/iiif/683b9e94-6bac-4ec0-ae6c-9847cfb4864a/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","height":500,"width":500}}]}],"thumbnail":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/washu/iiif/683b9e94-6bac-4ec0-ae6c-9847cfb4864a/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","logo":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/washu/iiif/logo"}
