PCGS Extremely Fine 40.   Notes from the Pigeon Roost Mining Company of Lumpkin County are complex, and are also very attractively engraved. The company was incorporated in 1834, along with the Belfast Mining Company in Dahlonega, which was the center of the Georgia gold rush. This branch note is interesting as it was payable in Alabama and the $10 denomination has a Rosene cross-listing, but this denomination is unlisted. Beautifully designed by Rawdon, Wright, Hatch & Edson, New-York. At the upper right is Mercury spilling a bounty of coins. At the far left is a Native American hunter drawing a bow. The right end panel has small vignette of Plenty. A bright and crisp example with an extremely low serial number 3.
